Love Is ~ Shanel Ranjith

Love is the most passionate thing
Like waves of the ocean on a cloudy day
It bleeds shades of cerulean
When he told me he loved me forever
And infinity was our melodious endeavor
Like the Autumn colored leaves
Our passion ignited in cipher
Flaming red
But alas soon changed color
Until it was burning dead
Thorn street pricking me
And I wish with every breath I take
To find my Rose each moment I wake...

  1. Hello...the colors and distinct details of ocean and autumn are a brilliant way to bring life to the emotions of the poem.

    Beautiful work, Shanel!

I was inspired by your third line, "It bleeds shades of cerulean" and I included this idea in a poem written for Kerry's challenge.

    Thank you, for inspiring me!

  2. Your use of language here is so accomplished and beautiful--musical. I found it really spoke to me, and cited several lines for the sonnet I wrote for the Imaginary Garden, which also used your title to introduce each stanza. Thank you so much for allowing us to be inspired by your work.
