Simple words
expressing intense emotions -
without poetry
my anger, pain and joy
would be left unspoken.
A teardrop in my eye
a thousand birds in the sky -
through poetry you are allowed to cry.
Let the poem speak.
Let the paper hear you weep.

Our Prayer ~ Naadir Vorajee
Let me know the Knowledge of Your world
Let me fly with wings
Show me my own destiny untwirled
Forgive my wrongful things...
Make me see the beauty in each day
make not my wings to fall
Give the beauty of life in this way
let my faith be tall.
Show me miracles in each grain of sand
Help me to be wise
Give me the privilege of Your hand
let security be Your eyes...
Let the strength of Your love fall upon us
Let it light our darkest ways
Let us take Your challenges without a fuss
until the end of days
Let this be our prayer for life,
Help us read your text
Show us the way in this material life
so that we may live in the next...

Freedom ~ Naadir Vorajee
Look at that Bird, watch it fly:
Move the earth beneath it as time goes by.
Look at FREEDOM, spread it's wings
Touch your heaven as it sings...
Fly away birdy, take what was yours...
Break those chains as you break our laws!
Glide through the air: Beauty and pride,
Fly up higher from the rock you denied.
SHOW them your Plumage: make them wonder...
why the hell, they did blunder
to put a bullet in your heart
and take away your special part..
SHOW them,
peacemaker... Fly away!
Bring back heaven upon this day!

In Loving Memory of Siphephelo Ndimande ~ Ndabazinhle Gumbi
Reminiscing on the Nostalgic Moments I notice
The many masks you put on just for us,
Just to make our high school days a little bit more bearable;
The times your brushed off your problems and smiled just for us;
The time you packed your problems haphazardly
Spread on the floor of your mind,
So we could get a laugh out of you;
The times you got in trouble
Just so we could have something to talk about after school
The time you had to walk home alone after detention
Because you were too afraid to tell your Grandmother.
We saw you ease through high school because we didn't know your struggles.
Maybe we're cared too about our fun times that we forgot to recognise your heart aches,
Maybe we saw too many of your laughs and didn't notice your pains,
Maybe we asked too much of you when we knew too little...
Sorry it had to end like this man.
