The night I will always regret
The night I would want to forget
The night where he asked me dance,
The night I just gave him a chance
The night he held me to the ground,
The night I felt jail-bound
The night he hurt me, hurt me so much
The night I thought I could trust
The night he was ape,
The night, regretful night, I was raped

A Night to Remember ~ Kylie Spencer
In that night, in that world
Reigned a false sense of security
An innocent thought that all people were good
And free of impurity
In that night, in that completely different world
I believed in the light
But now I am drowning
In the shadows
In that night, everything changed
The way that birds flew
The way bees buzzed
The way trees grew
The way I smiled
The way I laughed
The way I was still innocent
I was still a child
No longer am I whole
A beast crawls within
A monster in my gut
I think it’s going to win
Inspired by the novel, Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
