Laughing down the street
it's already early and we're late
but I don't want to let you go
you point to the sky,
say you've never seen a shooting star
and I smile at you
-every star in my sky,
reach into the heavens and touch your cheek
Don't promise me 'forever'
I've heard that said too often
-but I hope that now never ends

Why am I Happy? ~ Fezokuhle Nkehli
why am i happy , do you ask ?
well from the breath the Lord has breathed in me
to the sun that shines upon thee
the early morning air that creeps and shows compassion to those asleep
and brings calmness to those risen
why am i happy , do you still dare to ask me?
with my heart filled with overwhelming joy
from those whose names mean happiness and therefore is happiness
the body i dream to see in reality but shall remain pixelated
though when the wind of August stops into the Day of the first
shall my heart arrive from pixels but now to a physical
and greater joy shall be instilled
why am i happy ? i will tell you why .
the two which apart of me to form three
the two which words and faces comfort me to their familiarity
the laughter that bursts so loud that the moon hears and cracks into three
the three musketeers , my ladies, my girls the woman i shalt never leave
why am i happy ?
it is simple i happy because happiness is within me
and brought out by the wonders the Lord has blessed me with
now that is why i am Happy.

Emotion ~ Nokwanda Thabede
The scariest thing
About letting yourself go
Is letting people know you’re emotional
And when you cry every night
And wish you would die
Where are they
Telling you
To hold on,
Stay strong?
No where.
They are no where to be found.
No they don’t make a sound.
So when they come around
In your glory days,
They don’t even
Recognize your face.
It’s a shame to say
They just want your fame.
But they don’t even know you’re emotional.
Cause you keep it in so they don’t win.
But when
That one person
Comes along
And sings you
A song,
Let them in
Don’t let them
Move on.

That Car! ~ Charné Williams
The smell of leather in your ride.
The smoke of the tires as you speeds past the red light.
As the camera flashes, as you exceed the speed limit.
Excited by the bliss of your new car,
Illuminated by the stars of the night sky
All that matters is you and your new ride.
Speeding through the air as you hold your breath…
Ready for nitrous…
One minute you here, the next you there
Shocked by the suddenness of movement you amazed,
Nothing else matters in that moment ‘cause you free
And then suddenly you awake and it was all just a dream
But you know when you get that car,
You’ll forever ride, till the day you die…

Eternal Happiness ~ Nsiki Gwala
Happiness is the most fulfilling thing.
It's the touch of life which resurrects deceased spirits,
Like the cerulean sky, which gives freedom
to those who soar in it.
I'm reminded of hours spent near serene blue oceans,
Where my spirit was at peace-
Free from all burden, which had trapped my soul
In a ciphered cage of everlasting misery.
As Autumn creeps into our lives,
A feeling of emptiness lingers in the cold air,
(Mocking warm memories of happiness)
Because Autumn is a broken record stuck on a melancholy melody
Which serenades the dying nature into the next life.
I see dark clouds hanging over the Drakensberg,
As though mourning the death such beauty;
And I wish for the feeling of eternal happiness
To cleanse my troubled soul.

Yuktha Singh ~ Let's Reach the Heights of Craziness
The illness of Honesty,
Leave it and come, run and come
My heart is warmly inviting you…
Let’s party all night.
Reach the heights of
Craziness for a change,
Throw your hands up into the air
And let the lights be dim.
I am a little spoilt
You too become a little spoilt.
I’ll take a step forward,
You too take a step forward.
Throw your hands up
Into the air,
Let yourself free for once-
Free from the wrath of sophistication.
Let the intentions be a little
Wild and crazy for
A moment.
The atmosphere seems intoxicated,
Almost like alcohol.
All this intoxication that is spreading-
Let’s drink it up…
These intoxicating moments
Are making me excited
Let’s get crazy!
We’re in the age of Prime Youth,
Make some mischief.
In this age-
In the journey of the Heart,
What’s wrong and what’s right?
Let’s reach the heights
Of craziness for a change.
Throw your hands up into the air
And ‘Create’ till your heart’s desire-
Let the lights be dim…!

Meleza Jali ~ We Are Girls
We keep going
Even with tears running down
We say the simple words
“I’m Fine”
We are Girls
We live to the full
Sharing and giving
Bringing life into the world
We are Girls
We fall in love easily
For we see beauty in everyone
We laugh way too loudly
We are imperfectly perfect
We are pretty clumsy
We sometimes fight
And some days, nothing seems to go right
We are girls
Strong
Beautiful
Unique

Yuktha Singh ~ Winter Has Been Blown Away
Winter has been blown away.
I heard Spring’s harmonious voice as the sun rose.
Bright and colourful is the new day.
Over the horizon, the Sun shines his rays.
Across the bright, blue sky, so swiftly- a bird flies.
Winter has been blown away.
The skies and clouds were once so grey
and bare, dry trees are now in disguise.
Bright and colourful is the new day.
Mr Jack Frost too, has gone away.
Those cold mornings and frost bites slowly dies.
Winter has been blown away.
Children laugh and play and enjoy sorbet.
The Sun’s demands make everyone’s mood comply.
Bright and colourful is the new day.
Flowers, along with hearts begin to blossom.
As the Sun’s bright smile crosses one’s eyes,
Hearts sing and faces glow all day.
Winter has been blown away.
