The Cherry Blossom & Other Poems ~ Caitlin Struwig

The Cherry Blossom

Blush
Gentle Gust
Pink moons
Bless
Twisted
Dark nooks
Curving, sloping trunk
Papery skin
Glistens.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We pass our dreams,
And take the other road,
But then nothing is right.
We are the ones who choose,
But we never do what's right.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Their melodic hum,
Their sweet sense,
Their eye for beauty,
Is almost gone.
Because here they lie
Below where they used to fly
